Refund policy

If something is wrong

If your battery is faulty, damaged on arrival, incorrectly supplied or does not match its description, contact us on 09 243 1488 or through https://directtodoorbatteries.co.nz/pages/contact. Include your order number or other proof of purchase and a description of the issue. Photographs can help us assess it.

We will meet our obligations under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. Depending on the problem, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund. For a substantial failure, you may reject the goods and choose a refund or replacement, subject to the Act. Your statutory rights are not limited by a manufacturer's warranty period.

Returning a battery

Contact us before arranging transport so we can provide the appropriate return address and safe transport instructions. Batteries may require specialist handling, particularly if damaged. Do not send a leaking, swollen or otherwise unsafe battery through an ordinary postal or courier service without an agreed transport arrangement.

For a valid faulty-product claim, we will meet reasonable return transport costs. We will arrange collection where required by law. These instructions do not remove your statutory rights.

Change of mind and cancellations

We do not offer change-of-mind returns, including where you select an unsuitable battery without relying on incorrect advice from us. This does not affect your rights if the product is faulty, misdescribed or unsuitable for a purpose you made known to us and relied on our advice about.

If you wish to cancel before dispatch, contact us promptly. We will cancel and refund an order that has not been dispatched. If it has already been dispatched, the return provisions above apply.

Refunds

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method where possible. We will confirm when the refund has been processed; your payment provider's processing time may affect when it appears in your account.
